Managed to complete another 1/35 scale figure over the week courtesy of Fabio Mosca of HD Model from Italy. For me one of the most appealing part of painting IDF subjects is the eclectic mash up of equipment and gear from that period of the middle east conflict. The figure is fully painted with AK Interactive Gen 3 acrylic paints and a drain grate from Miniart Models to suggest part of the urban environment. I might add more litter to the ground work later this week if time permits. In all a fun project and finally a shout out also to Fabio Sacchi for bringing this little gem all the way from Italy.
Cheers,

Here we go again! I managed to find another spare figure in the scrap box to cobble this together. The base figure is from Tamiya's German Soldiers at Rest with a new head taken from the Wehrmacht Tank Crew set. The helmet and Kar98 are from Tamiya's German Infantry Set (Mid-WWII). The wooden barrels and bags are from Miniart Models.

A Watched Pot Never Boils , Sturmartillerie, Ostfront 1942
A glimpse of the figure at the initial phase of the project. I decided halfway through the painting to swap the head for another with a more stoic expression - perhaps a person who takes his cooking seriously....

Das Brot brechen - France 1940
This is probably the most elaborate vignette I have ever attempted using Tamiya's German Soldier's at Rest kit paired with various accessories from Miniart Model and Master Box Models. Miniart Model and Master Box are Ukrainian companies and have been prolifically producing quality models and accessories at economical prices. Tragically the travesty of war has plunged their entire country into the depths of misery. Like many, I do pray for this madness to stop and that peace could once again be restored in that beautiful country.

Sack Time
Time to hit the sack for the vignette. The printing on the sack is sourced from the internet, scaled down in Photoshop and printed out from my Canon Selphy photo printer. It was soaked in water for about two hours to separate the plastic film from the paper and applied onto the sack from MiniArt Models like regular water slide decals.
