Army News Issue 140

Hi All,

some publicity news with a write-up in Army News Issue 140 about a presentation I conducted at St Andrews Secondary back in February.

Here's presenting the finished version of the manga figure after a few bouts of changes and refinements especially to the eyes and face.

..and some thumbnail pictures of a magazine article on the sculpting and painting of the LSSAH, Taganrog figure. Please don't ask me when will it be completed because writing articles to me is liken to that of an AAR (After-Action Review) and I HATE AARs!

...from when I previously left off.

I've finally slapped some colour onto the Cyber chick which will eventually be a coloured prototype for mass production.

....and off to Spain!!!

Hi All,

I've finally added the finishing touches to the Manga Cyber Girl project and now in the midst of packing my lugagge as I write this.
Really looking forward to seeing the best of Spanish modelling this weekend as I attend my third visit to the Torrent Show. But only this time I will be attending as a judge for the figure classes. Nontheless I will still be bringing along some figures for the judges' display and I'm also seriously looking forward to the giant paella dinner this Saturday night!
Un Abrazo!

A Busy Month

It has been a hectic month of March with two pressing jobs to complete. One was the SAF commission and another the cyber manga girl. Hoping to see some closure to that before I head off to Spain for the AMT show in Torrent. Here's sneek peek of the work done so far. Only the hair and some minor details on her suit remains to be modelled and it's off to the casting foundry.

Cheers,

Calvin

Manga-esq Female Head

I've just taken on a new urgent assignment to create a figure master for a company mascot just to diversify my current portfolio of WW2 German Soldiers. The figure will measure approximately 6 inches tall which places it between the scale of 1/15 to 1/12 . Here's a preview of the head that I was dabbling on and off with the week before Taesung's assignment. (Oh By the way do check out his newly revamped website, looks really fantastic!) Modelled in Super Sculpey Firm. Man...Mike Good was right about this material! It rocks!

Also, I've found a little spare time today to organize a small selection of my favorite works from some of Spain's finest figure modellers and painters at AMT 2006. ( yes, I admit it's very late but still better then never) You may check them out HERE.

Cheers,

Calvin
