Das Brot brechen - France 1940

Not much progress over the week with the exception of the painting of the cognac crates and bottles.

A close up of the Landser inspecting the booty of French cognac.

 Cheers,

Calvin

I can tell you that the one soldier sitting down is quite drunk, Cognac is quite a relaxant although there is a French version of a sort of Moonshine that is stronger but tastes like battery acid. I tried it in Bayeux in 2013 and had to sit down right away!,we all had a laugh at the shop. Great work Calvin have a wonderful Christmas/Yule.

Hi Calvin,
I'm really enjoying what you are doing with the various Tamiya figures, it has provided a great deal of inspiration. I've recently finished one of the US tank crew but switched out the head for one by Hornet.(the one wearing the Bib overall).

For these Germans have you considered doing some remedial work on the area where the trousers are tucked into the boots by removing the boots hollowing them out a little then reattaching them? It should add a little more realism.

Cheers

Detailing the boot will lead to a slippery slope of overhauling the figures as there are several inaccuracies. However, I have decided to accept them as they are and focus on having fun building the scene.
