705th Tank Destroyer Battalion - NW Europe 1944-45

Added the TD shoulder patch onto the sleeve this evening; one of those instances whereby a small detail can make a big difference.

A Hot Meal in Ruins - Royal Model

Some progress on the groundwork. I added some tiles made using my Selphy print transfer technique to lend more colour and texture to the composition. Just a few more details to complete before I put a close on this assignment.

A Hot Meal in Ruins - Royal Model

Another box art assignment; this time it is for a well established Italian company Royal Model. The figure is a digital sculpt by it's owner Roberto Reale depicting a Waffen SS grenadier getting a warm meal in front of a portable field stove. It is fully painted with AK Gen 3 acrylic paints over a black undercoat with a white over spray.

705th Tank Destroyer Battalion - NW Europe 1944-45

My first figure completed for the year 2022. I kept the groundwork simple; complemented with some ammo boxes from Tamiya's US Tank Crew Set (35347) so as not to overpower the figure. It is fully painted in AK Interactive Gen 3 acrylics and Weathering pencils. In all it is a fun figure to paint over a three day period and surprisingly painting the HBT overalls was not as difficult as I imagined it to be.

705th Tank Destroyer Battalion - NW Europe 1944-45

Today has endowed me some time to add some details like the straps and the shoelaces to the figure. Reckon I would need a day or two to complete the painting before moving on to craft the groundwork.

While I am supposed to be finishing up on the vignette, I could not resist painting up the figure from Tamiya's M18 Hellcat tank destroyer.

Happy New Year!

A happy new year to one and all! Here is an update on this vignette before things get busy for me next week. As you can see the wagon is starting to pile up with all the accessories from MiniArt Models.  I reckon I spent about three evenings painting the wood grain on the barrels,

Here's a close up of the barrels painted with various shades and tones of brown with AK Gen3 acrylics.

The line up of colours from AK Interactive used to paint the barrels.
